Leasing Borough Land
The Lake and Peninsula Borough has land available for both commercial and individual use. A map of Borough land that could be leased is here.The decision to lease land is at the discretion of the Borough Assembly.
The process for obtaining a lease from the Borough begins with submitting and application. Borough staff will work with the applicant to make sure the application is complete and in good order. There is a non-refundable application fee that must be paid at the time the application is submitted

After the application has been review by staff, the application goes before the Assembly at a regular meeting with staff recommendation. Applicants are invited to attend the meeting. The Assembly will open the application to public comment up to the next scheduled Assembly meeting. At that point, if no adverse comment is made, the Assembly may approve the application.
Once the application has Assembly approval, the applicant has 30 days to satisfy all terms of the lease:
- First yearly lease payment
- Security deposit or surety bond
- Certificate of insurance
- Signed lease document
